Biography:
Born on August 5, 1975 daughter of famous actress Tanuja and producer Shomu Mukhjee, Kajol was destined to rule the film industry. The damsel is listed amongst the top actresses of Bollywood and is also one of the highest paid actors in the industry.
Her acting skills, versatility, spontaneity, style, class and choice of roles keeps her apart from the rest of her contemporaries.
Kajol's parents are divorced, though she meets both of them, and says that she wasn't affected a great deal by their split. Granddaughter of Shobhna Samarth, she comes from a family with a very long history in Indian Cinema. Her great grandmother Rattan Bai have been an influential figures in the film industry. Kajol's paternal grandfather Sashadhar Mukherjee was a legendary film director and producer. His wife Satirani Devi, Kajol's grandmother was the sister of three great film personality Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar. The actress is of Bengali descent. Famous star of yesteryears, Nutan is her aunt. Famous actress Rani Mukerji, Sharbani Mukherjee and Mohnish Behl are her cousins and a part of the industry. Tanisha her younger sister has recently started her film career.
Kajol got married to actor Ajay Devgan on February 24, 1999 and the couple has a daughter named Nysa born in April 2003.
Kajol left school and started her film career out of passion at the age of sixteen. Her strong financial background proved a great help and she never compromised on the quality of films.
Kajol made her debut in director Rahul Rawail’s “Bekhudi”. Though Bekhudi bombed at the box office. She was discouraged for a while when reality struck her but she continued. The next year came Abbas Mastan’s “ Baazigaar”.
