Clad in burqa, Himesh prays at Dargha

Himesh Reshammiya
Jaipur: Covered in a burqa to hide his identity, popular Bollywood singer Himesh Reshammiya visited Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti's Dargah in Ajmer.

"Himesh covered under a burqa reached the shrine by a three-wheeler auto at around 9.20 p.m. Tuesday and spent about an hour in the shrine", a dargah committee member told IANS here on Wednesday.

Himesh first tried to enter the dargah in Ajmer, about 140 kms from state capital Jaipur, at around 8.15 p.m.

However, fans recognised him when he stepped out of the car and tried to meet him. The enthusiastic crowd prevented the musician from entering the shrine and eventually he had to go back without offering prayers.

Later, he returned to the dargah covered in a veil. "He offered flowers, prayers and tied wish threads in the dargah," the committee member said.

He added that Himesh prayed for the success of his debut film "Aap Ka Suroor - The Real Love Story", which is slated to be released soon.

Hazart Khawaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti's Dargha is an important pilgrimage centre for people of all faiths.
